NHS Prescription Ordering Direct (POD)

We will be moving the ordering of repeat prescriptions to the NHS POD in January 2018. This service was set up in Coventry 18 months ago and many GP practices have already made the move.

The NHS POD service is provided by NHS Coventry & Rugby Clinical Commissioning Group. All calls are answered by dedicated, experienced and fully trained call handlers. We will be cascading information across the practice over the next few weeks. See Reception for further details.

All routine repeat prescription requests should now be made via the new NHS POD service (based at Coventry & Rugby CCG). This is a new and convenient way to order your repeat prescription by a dedicated, experienced and fully trained call handler. Ring (024) 7624 6072 Monday-Friday 8am - 5pm. Orders placed each day will be authorised by the GP and sent to your usual pharmacy. Please allow the usual 48 hours for this process.

See Reception for the range of alternative request options available. If you have a nominated pharmacy this will be delivered electronically and you will not need to collect from the practice. Prescriptions not available on repeat may require you to see a GP.

Access is also available via Emis Online. See a Receptionist to register for this service. Those patients who are deemed vulnerable can carry on with the nominated pharmacy ordering on there behalf, patients who do not want to use the POD or Emis Online services, we are happy to process the prescription at the surgery.

Please click here to view the POD leaflet for more detail about the service.

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip.

Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
